Take a cold shower
In this happy project, we will free some endorphins. Let’s experiment a bit with our bodies and take a cold shower. Most of us most probably know the feeling of being exhausted. In particularly, when you get up in the early morning. Imaging you would be super fresh, enthusiastic, and full of energy without any energy drink, coffee or any other caffeine. Taking a cold shower could help you to be more awake and motivated over the entire, day.
So let’s get wet!
How to start taking a cold shower
Before you begin taking a cold shower on a regular basis, it is important to start slowly. You will need to give your body time to acclimatize. So do not jump into the shower, pull the handle to cold, and torture yourself for 20 minutes. You most probably will never try a cold shower ever again. So do not shock your entire system, and be careful with yourself.
Day one
Imagine you are about to finish your usual showering routine. Think about how it would be if you would gently reduce the temperature. Can you handle that? Will you freak out?
Day two
The next day, just do it. Reduce the temperature, so the water would feel still warm enough, but already somewhat uncomfortable. On a scale from 1 to 10, where then is the level of the lowest temperature you could handle, and 1 would refer to a temperature you could easily tolerate. We want a 2! While showering in level 2, count to three and do not forget to breath. Then leave the shower and do whatever you need to do. Continue with this for the next six days. Please do not try to reduce the temperature any further. You might destroy the entire acclimatization effect, be patient and wait for day seven.
Day seven
Now it is time to reduce the temperature even more. So we will jump from level 2 to level 5 in terms of your personal tolerate scale. But do not reduce the temperature directly, to level 5. Start with level 2 as you practiced it the last six days. Then slowly reduce the temperature until you approach to level 5. Keep counting to three per level. If it becomes too cold, go back to level 2. Count again to three and reduce the temperature gain. Keep playing with the temperate levels for 3 times. We are sure that you are can easily handle that. If you approach to level 5 start showering your legs first. Then slowly proceed to the hip region. Then water your hands, arms and if you feel comfortable enough, shower your upper body. If you can, try also your head and your neck. Keep practicing this procedure for the next six days.
Day fourteen
Now it is time to try out level 7 on your personal temperature scale. We do not want to go any further. Because, we think this is cold enough. You do not want to torture yourself, but feel enthusiastic and energy loaded. Keep repeating the procedure you learned the last six days. So start with level 2 approach to level 5 and then step by step decrease the temperature until you approach tho level 7, feel free to go back to level 5, if you need to, but you might not what to go back any further than level 4. If you manage to handle level 7 for a more than three breaths, you most probably can handle the temperature easily. By the way, it is more than ok, to scream, shout, jump, dance, do strange noises, it is all part of it. So love the cold water.
Feel the benefits
You will get more temperature resistant over time. You will feel energy loaded, and your negative emotions will vanish, because we believe that taking a cold shower frees endorphins, which may bring you more happiness into your life. So by the happy project you will develop enthusiasm. So also check out the other happy projects. Over time, you might become as an overall positive and energetic personality. We are am sure that you will reach this state at some point, if not do not worry,
